"... unfathomable, almost-robot like ability to learn multiple tracks in what seems like seconds"

~Kirk Sheppard

Welcome! Kaela O'Connor is a Jersey Girl born and raised, although she now calls New York her official home, and is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) where she obtained her BFA in Musical Theatre and the Guildford School of Acting in Guildford, England, where she obtained her MFA in Musical Theatre.

She fell in love with the theatre when her grandmother took her to see Cathy Rigby in Peter Pan at the age of 4.  Since then, she has never lost sight of the magic that theatre can bring.

While in Cincinnati, she had the wonderful opportunity of working two summers at Kings Island Entertainment as both a dance captain and swing. She covered a total of 8 tracks her first summer and 6 tracks her second, earning herself the nickname, 'Robot'.  She later took that newly learned skill into school where she swung all five principal roles in Carrie, The Musical on top of the role she was playing, and was brought in to learn the entirety of Singin' In the Rain  in one week after another actor fell ill.

She teaches Tap, Advanced Audition Techniques, Musical Theatre Dance Styles and regularly subs for Voice, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop, and kids Musical Theatre classes at Class Act Performing Arts Studio (CAPAS) in South Orange, NJ. Since beginning her work at CAPAS, she has choreographed productions of "Carrie, The Musical", "Sweeney Todd", "Spring Awakening", "Head Over Heels" and "Pippin" along with many numbers for their 2016 - 2022 January Revues and numerous numbers for their competing Dance Company.

Since living in NYC, she has had the opportunity to be part of the 2015 Broadway Cares Easter Bonnet Competition where she danced in the opening number, held a hat in the Dancers Responding to Aids piece, and then returned at the end, fulfilling her lifelong dream of being a dancing '8' in the grand total reveal of the $4,711,386 that the fabulous Broadway community raised.

She is now splitting time between NYC and London since she has the right to work in both places!
